I hope your holiday season is full of joy, celebration, and connection with loved ones so far!
2022 has been a momentous year for us here at West Trade Interiors, and I wanted to take a moment to share a major update for one of our nearest and dearest.
After much deliberation and preparation, our beloved founder, Lisa Britt, has stepped out of the day-to-day interior design world to enjoy a life of retirement filled with adventures at home and away.

Over the past decade, Lisa has incrementally handed the business’s reins over to me (Hadley Quisenberry, Lisa’s daughter). I originally joined the company in 2012 and have worked alongside her ever since to create custom interiors for clients, as well as working diligently behind the scenes to develop and implement WTI’s signature processes, laying a foundation for a strong future.
In honor of her retirement, here’s a little walk down memory lane through Lisa’s history in the business.
West Trade Interiors was born in 1988 under the name Lisa Britt Designs when Lisa began designing beautiful spaces for family-oriented clients who wanted a greater sense of joy from living in their homes.
Lisa discovered her love for interiors during college in South Carolina while working part-time in an antique store. By renovating and redecorating each of six personal homes when her husband’s career moved the family throughout the Southeast, Lisa honed her innate skills in spatial planning and in seamlessly blending old with new.
In each new city, Lisa also picked up a loyal client following and built her design business on her warmth, her integrity, and her ability to bring a sophisticated brand of Southern charm to the spaces she designed.
As Lisa’s daughter, I watched her work her design magic throughout my childhood, and was deeply proud to join her in growing West Trade into a sought-after full-service interior design firm based in Charlotte, NC.

Our partnership blended a lifetime of experience with a fresh design perspective to create a company-wide culture that values quality design work, superior client service, and family ties.

Together, we grew the business, adding a design team to allow us to handle multi-room and whole-house design projects in Charlotte, NC, and throughout the Southeast. The energizing spaces we created for busy families who value connecting with loved ones in their homes caught the attention of homeowners and the media alike, garnering coverage in local outlets including multiple features in Charlotte Home Design + Décor and South Park Magazine, as well as a national feature in Southern Home. West Trade soon became known for balancing our clients’ personal style with a relevant, transitional design that stands the test of time, much like the business Lisa started so long ago.

To Lisa, the West Trade team and I want to say that words cannot express how thankful we are for the creativity, dedication, hard work, and time you devoted to the business you so lovingly built. Our team, clients, vendors, contractors, and all who have had the honor of working with you remain blessed by your beautiful spirit, your integrity, and your generosity. You are truly one in a million and you are deeply, deeply loved. Thank you for sharing your God-given talents with the world. May you enjoy an abundance of love, rest, and joy in your retirement. Here’s to an eventful 2022 and cheers to a bright 2023 for us all!
